The stage is set for a thrilling matchup in the Final Four as top-ranked teams Duke and Houston face off in the national semifinal of the NCAA Tournament. The Blue Devils, ranked No. 1, will take on the No. 2 Cougars on Saturday, April 5, at 8:49 p.m. ET, with CBS providing live coverage. The game promises to be an intense battle between two of the nation’s top teams, with both Duke and Houston boasting impressive resumes.

Duke’s journey to the Final Four has been nothing short of remarkable. The Blue Devils have won 31 of their last 32 games since late November, including a 15-game winning streak that ranks among the nation’s longest current streaks. They lead the nation in scoring margin (+21.1) and rank third in assist-to-turnover ratio (+1.82), showcasing their impressive offense and ball-handling skills. Additionally, Duke’s defense has been solid, ranking fourth in the country in field goal percentage defense (.385) and seventh in scoring defense (62.6).

One key factor in Duke’s success has been the emergence of freshman sensation Cooper Flagg. The 18-year-old phenom has been a revelation, earning ACC Player of the Year and ACC Rookie of the Year honors while becoming the first consensus First Team All-American in the conference since 2019. Flagg’s impressive stats include 18.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 1.4 steals per game, making him a nightmare to match up against.

However, Houston is no slouch either. The Cougars have been on a tear, winning 30 of their last 31 contests since the end of November and boasting the nation’s longest win streak at 17 games. They lead the country in scoring defense (58.3) and field goal percentage defense (.382), showcasing their stingy defense and ability to shut down opponents. Houston’s offense has also been impressive, with the Cougars ranking 10th in adjusted offensive efficiency (123.9) and featuring a balanced attack with multiple players averaging in double figures.

One player to watch for Houston is LJ Cryer, who averages 15.4 points per game and has been a key contributor to the Cougars’ success. The Cougars’ ability to limit turnovers (9.0 per game) and convert at a high clip from three-point range (.397) will be crucial in their matchup against Duke.

In their previous meeting, Duke defeated Houston 54-51 in the NCAA Tournament Sweet 16, but the Cougars have since improved their defense and are looking for revenge. The Blue Devils will need to bring their A-game to overcome Houston’s stout defense and advance to the championship game.

Duke head coach Jon Scheyer has led the Blue Devils to a top-five seed in each of his first three seasons, and his team is well-equipped to handle the pressure of a high-stakes game. With a strong defense and a potent offense, the Blue Devils are poised to make a deep run in the tournament.

The matchup between Duke and Houston promises to be an exciting and closely contested game, with both teams featuring a mix of talented players and solid team defense. The winner will advance to the championship game, where they’ll face off against the winner of the other semifinal matchup.

In recent years, Duke has become known for its impressive runs in the NCAA Tournament, and this year’s team is no exception. With a talented roster and a strong coaching staff, the Blue Devils are looking to bring home their first national championship since 2015.

The stage is set for an epic showdown between two of the nation’s top teams. Will Duke’s offense prove too much for Houston’s defense, or will the Cougars’ stingy defense shut down the Blue Devils’ high-powered attack? The answer will have to wait until Saturday night, when these two powerhouses face off in the national semifinal.

Duke’s roster features a mix of talented players, including Flagg, Khaman Maluach, and Tyrese Proctor, who have all made significant contributions to the team’s success. The Blue Devils’ bench has also been a key factor in their success, with players like Sion James and Kon Knueppel providing valuable minutes off the bench.

The game will also feature a talented group of broadcasters, including Ian Eagle, Bill Raftery, Grant Hill, and Tracy Wolfson, who will provide play-by-play commentary and analysis throughout the game. The Blue Devil Sports Network will also provide coverage, with David Shumate and John Roth calling the action.

As the game approaches, fans can stay up to date with the latest news and updates by following Duke and Houston on social media. The game promises to be an exciting and closely contested matchup, with both teams looking to advance to the championship game.

In conclusion, the matchup between Duke and Houston is shaping up to be one of the most exciting games of the tournament. With both teams featuring talented
