Grammy-winning bluegrass virtuoso Billy Strings showcased his versatility beyond the genre by delivering a pitch-perfect rendition of Ozzy Osbourne’s Bark at the Moon while dressed as a werewolf during a Halloween concert at CFG Arena in Baltimore.
Strings, wielding what appeared to be a PRS McCarty electric guitar, captured the track’s signature tone and iconic solo with precision, earning praise for his seamless transition into heavy metal territory. His band joined the festivities in full costume, featuring nods to Phantom of the Opera, a vampire, and Frankenstein’s monster.
The performance has quickly gained traction online, with one fan commenting, “You never know what you’re gonna get when you go to a Billy Strings concert!”
The cover adds to a growing list of tributes to Ozzy Osbourne following the metal icon’s passing, including Nuno Bettencourt and Extreme’s creative medley, Wolfgang Van Halen’s emotional Mama I’m Coming Home, and a polarizing all-star medley at the MTV VMAs.
Earlier this year, Strings expanded his signature gear lineup with two Martin acoustic models inspired by his 1940 D-28, following a collaboration with Chase Bliss on a signature pedal in 2024.
Known for unpredictable live shows that blend bluegrass tradition with bold experimentation, Strings continues to bridge musical worlds with flair.
