She’s back, and better than ever! Skiing icon Lindsey Vonn, defying all odds at age 41, has officially qualified for the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Olympics – her fifth Games and the one she’s calling her absolute final ride.

Vonn dropped the bombshell on Instagram right before the holidays: “OLYMPICS, HERE WE COME!! 🇺🇸⛷️ I have officially qualified for the Olympics in Cortina!!! … in my 5th and final Olympics!” She called Cortina – the stunning Italian venue for Alpine events – “very, very special,” hinting at big dreams on those legendary slopes.
After retiring in 2019 amid brutal injuries and undergoing partial knee replacement in 2024, Vonn’s return has been nothing short of miraculous. She kicked off the 2025-26 World Cup season with fire: multiple podiums, a historic win in St. Moritz (making her the oldest ever to claim a World Cup victory), and now dominating the downhill rankings to secure her Olympic spot.
The three-time Olympic medalist (including gold in Vancouver 2010) isn’t just showing up – she’s competing for the podium. “Everyone knows how competitive I am,” she teased recently. With her speed and experience, experts say she could shock the world one last time.
This comeback is inspiring a generation: Age is just a number for the queen of speed! Will Vonn go out with another medal in February 2026? The skiing world is HOLDING ITS BREATH.
