In a thrilling and weather-challenged women’s downhill race at the FIS Alpine Ski World Cup in Zauchensee, Lindsey Vonn (USA) delivered a masterclass performance to secure her 84th career World Cup win — her second downhill victory of the 2025/26 season. The 41-year-old legend overcame a shortened course due to heavy snowfall and limited visibility, clocking an unbeatable time of 1:06.24 from bib number six.

Here are the official Top 10 finishers from today’s electrifying race on the Kälberloch piste:

    Lindsey Vonn (USA) – 1:06.24

Kajsa Vickhoff Lie (NOR) – +0.37

    Jacqueline Wiles (USA) – +0.48

    Laura Pirovano (ITA) – +0.63

    Janine Schmitt (SUI) – +0.65

    Emma Aicher (GER) – +0.68

    Breezy Johnson (USA) – +0.70

    Romane Miradoli (FRA) – +0.73

    Nicol Delago (ITA) – +0.74

Ester Ledecka (CZE) and Elena Curtoni (ITA) – +0.75 (tie)

The race was marked by tough conditions: Friday’s training was canceled, and the course was shortened from the reserve start due to persistent snow. Vonn, starting early, executed flawless lines through the technical sections, proving her experience unbeatable. She now extends her commanding lead in the downhill standings to well over 100 points.

Here are some highlights from the podium finishers:

Vonn’s American teammates shone brightly, with Jacqueline Wiles in third and Breezy Johnson in seventh — a strong showing for Team USA less than a month before the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics.

Despite the challenging weather and a mid-race interruption due to a crash (Magdalena Egger was airlifted after a heavy fall), the event showcased elite skiing and resilience. The women’s speed program continues tomorrow with the super-G in Zauchensee.

Congratulations to all athletes — what a day for alpine skiing! ❄️⛷️🏆
