Lindsey Vonn has reached another significant milestone in her recovery, returning to the gym and training without a leg brace just months after a devastating crash at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
The American skiing legend shared video footage of her latest workout session, showing her performing lower-body exercises, balance drills, and strength work with visible confidence. In the post, Vonn appeared smiling and energized as she moved through her routine without the heavy support she had relied on for much of her rehabilitation.
“The face I make when I can actually workout in the gym!” she wrote. “Makes me so happy and excited I can’t even put it into words!”
The update marks a major step forward for the 41-year-old, who suffered complex fractures to her leg and a broken ankle during a high-speed crash in the Olympic downhill. The injury required multiple surgeries and left her initially confined to a wheelchair before progressing to crutches.
Despite the long and difficult recovery process, Vonn has continued to approach her rehabilitation with the same determination that defined her racing career. Being able to train more freely has clearly lifted her spirits, offering a positive sign of progress after months of limited mobility.
While she has acknowledged that full recovery remains a long road, this latest gym session shows that Vonn is steadily reclaiming her strength — one focused, hard-working session at a time.
