Mikaela Shiffrin didn’t just post a thank-you note. She posted a full Colorado love letter.
After spending last weekend with the Denver Broncos and Denver Summit FC, the three-time Olympic gold medalist shared a simple but powerful message:
“Home (and Colorado sports) is where my heart is… thank you, Denver Broncos and Denver Summit FC for the warmest welcome last weekend. Cheering for you and hope to be back soon! But for now, it’s time to ski.”
The timing made it hit even harder. Shiffrin had just visited Broncos training camp, where the team treated the Colorado native like one of their own. She also made a high-profile appearance at a Summit FC match — the NWSL club she invested in — handling coin-toss duties, speaking on the field, and celebrating with the team.
For an athlete who spends most of the year living out of a suitcase and chasing snow across continents, the stop in her home state clearly meant something. Shiffrin has always flown the Colorado flag proudly. Her ownership stake in Summit FC only made that connection stronger.
Still, the skier never stays grounded for long. With the southern hemisphere winter in full swing, she is already on her way to Chile for on-snow training as she builds toward another World Cup campaign.
One weekend of pure home-state energy. One heartfelt message of support. And then the skis called her name again.
