Olympic legend Lindsey Vonn just shared one of the most wholesome moments of her year — and it has nothing to do with medals.
After a brutal Olympics crash, multiple surgeries, and the heartbreaking loss of her beloved dog Leo the very next day, Vonn finally made it home. Waiting for her was Chance, her Cavalier King Charles Spaniel.
The video she posted shows Chance losing his mind with happiness. Tail wagging so hard his whole body shakes. Licking her face. Climbing into her lap like he hadn’t seen her in years.
Vonn’s caption said it all:
“Reunited with Chance. Had a pretty hard day yesterday, everything just really hit me hard and I broke down. I know there will be a lot of days like this… the internal mental battle has just begun but moments like this help me so much. Just miss my boy Leo… One day at a time.”
Fans immediately melted.
This is the same Chance she adopted in August 2025 after losing Lucy. The little spaniel has now become her unofficial recovery partner — from hospital-bed cuddles to later videos of Vonn riding an electric scooter down the street with Chance trotting beside her, captioned: “Look out world! Here we come 🛴💃🐶 Was my first time outside in over a month!”
Vonn has always been a proud dog mom. Leo was with her through ACL recoveries and Olympic heartbreaks. Lucy traveled the world with her. Now Chance is the one helping her through the hardest chapter yet.
Sometimes the strongest athletes don’t need another medal.
They just need a dog who still thinks they’re the greatest thing on earth.
