One of the players who has been doing well for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in recent weeks is Darwin Nunez, and Ian Wright has been impressed.
Liverpool are doing well in their quest to beat Arsenal and Manchester City to the Premier League title this season.
The Merseyside club are also winning matches in the UEFA Europa League and will fancy winning the European competition.
Liverpool edged past Nottingham Forest at the City Ground in the Premier League last weekend and hammered Sparta Prague in the UEFA Europa League on Thursday evening.
Darwin Nunez scored against Forest and found the back of the net twice against Sparta. Arsenal legend Ian Wright has been impressed.
Ian Wright praises Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez
Wright said about Nunez on the Wrighty’s House podcast: “There is a beautiful chaos to him. There’s something. It feels like that about him.
“This is why when he does finish and he finishes clinically, he looks amazing. It looks like, wow, completely unbelievable. Then you see, like you say, Flo, the lack of composure in certain moments.
“But I just feel that header against Forest was just so, when you watch it from behind the goal, he exceeds everything, what he is doing to get it down, flick it, I was delighted for him because he is somebody that I kind of backed from the start simply going off of some of the chances that he misses when you think, but he is never afraid to get back into that position, whether he is going to blast it or finish it well.
“He is never afraid to get back in there and you never feel that he is being tentative about it. He is never tentative.”
My View: Darwin Nunez will play a big role this season
In my opinion, Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez is going to play a big role for Jurgen Klopp’s side this season.
Liverpool have already won the Carabao Cup this season and will now be determined to clinch the Premier League, the UEFA Europa League and the FA Cup.
Nunez is a regular in the Liverpool first team. Manager Jurgen Klopp rates him highly, and I think that the 24-year-old will have to be on top of his game in the coming weeks and months.
The striker has scored 16 goals and given 11 assists in 39 matches in all competitions for Liverpool so far this campaign. Last season, the Liverpool star scored 15 goals and provided four assists in 42 competitive games for the Reds.
