Jurgen Klopp and Mohamed Salah were involved in a furious touchline spat on Saturday lunchtime.
Salah was dropped by the German as Liverpool made the trip down to East London to try and hold onto their title dreams. And with the score tied at 2-2, Klopp introduced Salah, alongside Darwin Nunez and Joe Gomes with just over ten minutes remaining.
However, before entering the pitch, Salah could be seen in an animated rant at his manager after Klopp had said something to the Egyptian. Salah started to make his way over Klopp, before Nunez put himself between the pair.
“This is so painful to watch, I get there’s a lot of passion but this seals the deal for me, Salah is leaving this summer,” one fan admitted. While a second shared: “You’re never bigger than the club or the manager. Salah still has a lot to learn…”
“Salah beefing with Klopp but can’t play a 5 yard pass. Interesting,” a third posted. And another added: “I saw Steven Gerrard go out with a 6-1 loss to Stoke, and now I’m seeing Mo Salah going out as a squad player while getting into a scrap with Klopp on the touchline…”
Liverpool needed a huge result on Saturday after they saw their title challenge evaporate at the hands of their bitter rivals Everton. The Toffees dealt a major blow – beating Liverpool 2-0 at Goodison Park.
The Reds went 1-0 down on Saturday, but turned the game around to lead 2-1, thanks to Cody Gakpo shot that deflected off three West Ham defenders. However, Michail Antonio powered a header past Alisson to fire the Hammers level.
The result leaves the Reds third, behind both Arsenal and Manchester City, who both now possess games in hand over Klopp’s side.
