Pep Guardiola will not return to Bayern Munich this summer but there is great uncertainty over his Man City future, sources have told Football Insider.
The Spaniard, 53, has been widely linked with the vacancy at Bayern with Thomas Tuchel set to depart at the end of this season.
Guardiola is under contract at Man City until June 2025 after penning his last extension in November 2023.
The Premier League champions are desperate to prolong his stay in Manchester but it is believed they are aware the final decision will lie with the former Barcelona boss.
A top source has told Football Insider say City are not likely to put pressure on him to renew his contract in the coming months.

Guardiola has spent eight years at the Etihad Stadium, winning five Premier League titles, one Champions League trophy and two FA Cups.
He has won almost 73% of his 468 matches in charge at City.
Man City are on track to win a fourth consecutive English title in the 2023-24 campaign, trailing Arsenal by one point with a game in hand on Mikel Arteta’s side.
The Spaniard spent three years at Bayern, winning Bundesliga titles in each of those seasons.
