Arne Slot will soon arrive at Anfield as his reign as Liverpool head coach begins. The Dutchman will no doubt be eyeing up some new arrivals for his squad over the next few weeks.
Slot is due to officially take charge on June 1, having been confirmed as Jürgen Klopp’s successor on Monday. That will line him up nicely with the summer transfer window opening.
The 45-year-old will have plenty of work on his hands as he and new sporting director Richard Hughes make some big decisions on the squad for the 2024/25 campaign. Major surgery isn’t needed after an encouraging season, but there’s no doubt some fresh blood is required.

Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds today, including the latest on Johan Bakayoko.
Johan Bakayoko (PSV Eindhoven)
Liverpool is considering Johan Bakayoko this summer, according to Belgian journalist Sacha Tavolieri. Chief scout Barry Hunter and Arne Slot are both said to have approved of the 21-year-old’s signing already.
The Reds are claimed to have watched Bakayoko since March 2023, and they could secure him for less than PSV’s $54m (£43m/€50m) valuation. Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are also said to be in the running.
