As the 2025 indoor track season approaches, Alica Schmidt is gearing up for a strong comeback. The 26-year-old German athlete has been working tirelessly to improve her performance, and her recent training stint in a South African high-altitude training camp is a testament to her dedication.

Schmidt’s journey to the top has not been without its challenges. Despite being part of the mixed relay team that competed in the 2024 Paris Olympics, her team narrowly missed out on a podium finish. However, this setback has only fueled her determination to succeed in the upcoming season.

With her sights set on a stronger comeback, Schmidt embarked on a rigorous training program in South Africa. The high-altitude training camp provided her with the ideal environment to push her limits and fine-tune her skills. As she reflected on her time in South Africa, Schmidt expressed a mix of emotions – sadness at leaving behind the beautiful scenery and warm hospitality, but also excitement at the prospect of returning home and competing in the indoor track season.

“Honestly a bit sad to leave South Africa. We had such a great time but I’m also excited for indoors and coming home,” Schmidt captioned her Instagram story, giving her fans a glimpse into her emotional state.

As Schmidt prepares to take on the indoor track season, she draws on her past experiences to fuel her motivation. A member of the 4x400m relay squad that won silver at the 2017 U20 Championships, Schmidt has already demonstrated her potential on the international stage. Her participation in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics as a substitute for the mixed team was another valuable learning experience that has shaped her into the athlete she is today.

Now, as Schmidt sets her sights on the 2025 indoor track season, she is more determined than ever to make a strong comeback. With her training in South Africa under her belt, she is confident that she has the physical and mental strength to take on the best athletes in the world.

As the indoor track season gets underway, fans can expect to see a rejuvenated and focused Alica Schmidt take to the track. With her sights set on redemption and her determination to succeed, Schmidt is poised to make a significant impact in the world of athletics.
