Lindsey Vonn is no longer leaving it to rumors. On Wednesday the Olympic skiing star posted a summer recap on Instagram that officially confirmed what fans had suspected for months. In the carousel of photos, Vonn and French alpine ski racer Matthieu Bailet are kissing in a pool and lying together in a hammock over the ocean. Her caption was short and unmistakable: “About that time for a summer recap… pt 1❤️”
Bailet replied in the comments: “Can’t wait to see the summer recap part 2 😉😘”
That is as official as it gets.
Vonn, 41, spent the summer rehabbing the serious leg injuries she suffered during the 2026 Olympics. At the same time she was building a relationship with 30-year-old Bailet, a French speed specialist who competed at the 2022 Beijing Games. The two were first spotted together in New York in May — shopping in SoHo, riding the subway, and posing backstage at the Broadway musical The Outsiders. A source told People at the time they were “getting to know each other.”
The new photos remove any remaining doubt.
Friends immediately celebrated the hard launch. Tennis star Sloane Stephens commented “HARD LAUNCH!!!!!!! ❤️❤️”. Caroline Wozniacki wrote “Look at you insta official!! 🔥❤️ miss you!!”. Rugby player Ilona Maher added, “The award for the hottest couple goes to…”
This is Vonn’s first publicly confirmed relationship since her split from businessman Diego Osorio in early 2025. Before that she was engaged to NHL star P.K. Subban and dated Tiger Woods. Dating another skier is a first in recent years. Bailet understands the schedule, the injuries, the travel, and the pressure in a way most people outside the sport never will.
Vonn has spoken before about how difficult it is for non-athletes to keep up with her life. After a brutal Olympic crash and a long recovery that included crutches, a wheelchair period, and slow gym progress, she chose to share something lighter: pool kisses, an ocean hammock, and a simple red heart.
Part 2 of the summer recap is already being requested. For now, the message is clear. Lindsey Vonn is happy, recovered enough to enjoy the moment, and no longer hiding it.
