Defensive ends coach DeMarcus Covington remains a strong internal candidate for the position.
For his role as special teams coordinator, Mayo targeted Falcons special teams coordinator Marquis Williams, former Giants special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey and Rams special teams assistant Jeremy Springer.
