The Green Bay Packers made the difficult decision to spend this offseason with David Bakhtiari. In Week 1, he showed he can be one of the best players in the NFL even when healthy. Unfortunately, this was the only game Bakhtiari was able to play this season due to ongoing knee problems. However, today LaFleur released a statement regarding Bakhtiari’s future in a Packers uniform.
According to Ryan Wood of USA Today:Matt LaFleur opened up about his relationship with David Bakhtiari: “He’s a great player, right? He is a great player and his injury was serious. So we’ll evaluate that, get more information, talk to Dave, and I’m sure a decision will be made soon.
The Packers and David Bakhtiari have had an interesting relationship over the past few seasons. In December 2020, Bakhtiari suffered a career-threatening cruciate ligament tear.
Due to a torn ACL, Bakhtiari has played just one game in two of the last three seasons (2021 and 2023). In 2022, Bakhtiari played in 11 matches, but his season was cut short again due to knee problems.
