Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has weighed in on Jurgen Klopp’s announcement that he will leave Liverpool at the end of the season.

Former Manchester United captain Roy Keane has shared his thoughts on Jurgen Klopp’s decision to leave Liverpool. He praised the German’s nine-year deal but admitted he was not surprised by the news.Liverpool made a surprise announcement on Friday morning, revealing that Klopp will step down at the end of the 2023/24 season.

The 56-year-old admitted he was not strong enough to start his ninth full season at Anfield. While at Liverpool, Klopp won the Premier League and Champions League as well as the League Cup, FA Cup, Super Cup and Club World Cup.

Clyne responded to the news of Klopp’s departure by praising the style of football he has introduced to the Premier League since taking over from Brendan Rodgers in October 2015. But he also admitted that pressure from Hyundai’s management had slightly swayed Klopp’s decision. Keane said:

“There has been a lot of talk about who is coming in. The other challenge now for Liverpool is timing. We will see when the manager makes the decision and how this group of players reacts.” , Times are a bit different but we know what a great manager Klopp is. “He’s a character and we’ll miss the kind of football he plays, but I’m not surprised. His demands on the manager are working,” he said.

Keane said there is no comparison between Sir Alex Ferguson and Klopp. Keane was Manchester United captain when Ferguson reversed his decision to retire in 2002.”Times are different,” explained Keane. “Manchester United’s manager did that at the start of the season and we won three titles in a row.

Maybe it was a little disappointing. “Subconsciously I thought it would have an impact on the dressing room at the time,” he said. “We had experienced players and we thought we could carry on, but he decided to come back and we went with it.”
