In the top five European divisions, Nigerian striker Victor Boniface has contributed more goals than any other player under the age of 23.
Prior until now, Jude Bellingham, a rising star from Real Madrid and England, had contributed more goals overall this season than Victor Boniface.
Bellingham was named Europe’s best under-21 player earlier last month, and his outstanding play earned him the 2023 Golden Boy Award.
Bellingham left Borussia Dortmund to join Real Madrid in the summer, and in 20 games at the Bernabeu, he has contributed five assists and 17 goals.
After Real Madrid defeated Villarreal 4-1 on Sunday, goals from the 20-year-old Englishman sent Real Madrid to the top of the Spanish La Liga standings.
Boniface has played a total of 1,689 minutes throughout 22 games, which is 43 minutes fewer than Bellingham’s 1,732 minutes.
In contrast to Bellingham, who scores a goal every 13 minutes in La Liga, the 22-year-old Nigerian international is more clinical, as evidenced by his numbers, which show that he scored a goal every nine minutes in the Bundesliga.
Victor Boniface now tops the standings among all under-23 players from the top five leagues in Europe in terms of total goal contributions this season with 23.
Boniface’s Bayer Leverkusen, who have won 21 and drawn three of their 24 games across all competitions, are the only unbeaten team in the top five leagues in Europe.
