After a tough loss to the San Francisco 49ers last Saturday, the Green Bay Packers’ Super Bowl trip is over. But for Elgton Jenkins, that dream will soon become a reality.
To put things into perspective, the Packers traded Aaron Rodgers to the New York Jets last year. In turn, the franchise handed the keys to Jordan Love as the starting quarterback. While Love’s performance against the 49ers, along with Anders Karlsson’s missed shot, contributed to the team’s downfall, there’s no denying how he raised the bar for the team.
Of course, it remains to be seen what steps Green Bay will take in the coming months to secure a future trip to the Super Bowl. Elgton Jenkins spoke to the media after his ejection and shared a positive outlook on the Packers’ future in the NFL.
“We’re coming. I came with a purpose. We want to win everything. I think we can do it this year, but I’m very optimistic about next year. There are men in the building. We have everything you need to make it happen. We have to do it. This year we laid a good foundation.
We just have to start winning,” Jenkins said. Jenkins’ message seems to have fired up Green Bay’s roster. And the Packers did just that last Saturday when they took a lead against San Francisco but stumbled in the final two minutes of the game. This disappointment fueled the team to do better next season.
To accept everything. Undoubtedly. Trusting the process to get better offensively and individually so we can get better collectively and go all the way,” added Jenkins.
With the Packers season over, everyone in the organization can focus on getting better, as can Lubov’s promise to develop and find new talent through the draft. Find out what Green Bay will do to accommodate Jenkins’ needs in the coming months.
