Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders has urged manager Gareth Southgate to include Curtis Jones in the national squad.
The midfielder, who turns 23 this month, has been outstanding for Liverpool this season and is playing a key role in Jurgen Klopp’s revival at Anfield.
Despite the ups and downs since his debut in 2019, Jones found his way as Liverpool went unbeaten in their last 11 games last season.Curtis Jones is currently a key figure leading Liverpool on several fronts this season.
As the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final against Fulham draws to a close, Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders has suggested the midfielder should be included in Gareth Southgate’s Euro 2024 squad.
“There’s no need to think about anything,” the Reds assistant manager told a news conference. “You have eyes, right?” “When you are at the top of the league and one of the most decisive players in the team, the player who sets the tone, with or without the ball, takes the initiative and it always shows.
“Curtis Jones is yet to play for England but played a key role in England Under-21’s victory at the European Championships last summer.
