The New England Patriots have a member named to the 2023 PFWA All-Rookie Team: Punter Bryce Barringer.Barringer, a sixth-round pick out of Michigan State, came to the NFL with big feet and used them through the 2023 season.
Barringer scored 98 points last season, second most in the NFL (an indicator of the state of the Patriots’ offense).Barringer averaged 46.9 yards per carry last season, good for 19th in the NFL. He also ran for 79 yards, the third longest touchdown of the year. He ranks 22nd in the NFL in facing 20 inside snaps (38.8%) and 22nd in touchdown percentage (8.2%).
Baringer has shown his legs with his swing shots all year. But he was inconsistent at times, which lowered his weight average (and moved him to the back of the pack to keep the ball out of the end zone). The full rookie squad announced by the PFWA this week is as follows:
