As well as finding a replacement for Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool are also looking to replace sporting director Jörg Schmatke, who is set to leave at the end of the January transfer window.

Liverpool are interested in hiring Bournemouth technical director Richard Hughes as their next sporting director. The Reds are looking for a new sporting director after Jörg Schmadtke announced he will leave the club at the end of the January transfer window.

The German only arrived in January 2023 but is set to leave at the end of the season as part of a major shake-up by owners Fenway Sports Group following the departure of Jurgen Klopp. According to the Daily Mail, Hughes was pictured replacing Schmadtke in his Cherries job. The 44-year-old came through Arsenal’s academy and played as a midfielder for Bournemouth, Portsmouth and Grimsby.

He retired in 2014 and joined Bournemouth’s coaching staff when Eddie Howe took over as manager. Hughes was promoted to technical director and has recently achieved success. Some of his signings have helped Andoni Iraola’s side impress in the Premier League this season. “When I was a player I didn’t have to work on the recruiting side,” he told Bournemouth’s website in 2019.

“I was a student of the game, I analyzed the game, I loved her opinion and tried to share it with people and I did it to hire it.”He explained and added the employment philosophy. “Because it is very low under very low conditions, it is very low, so at the moment, it affects the administrator and happiness in all cases. The mood and performance of the player.”

I want to do well when I want to start and start as much as I can. -If you talk about Shmade, the president of the Funwest Gordon sports group: “I would like to establish Jord’s weight for his important role last summer. He has made an invaluable contribution in terms of the support he has provided to Jurgen Klopp and the support and guidance he has provided to our outstanding football operations department.

“As well as leaving with a sense of gratitude for his hard work, we would like to take this opportunity to extend our best wishes to Jorg and his family for the future.”Schmadtke will now look for other opportunities in the game. He said: “It was a great honor to work here because Liverpool is a very special club, but I knew from the start that it would be short-lived.

“I would like to thank all the owners, managers, staff, players and fans for their support and wish them all the best for the rest of the season.”
