The Washington Chiefs have questions about who they will trade this offseason.
Among the players on the team, multiple Pro Bowler Jonathan Allen may have the team’s highest trade value. The Chiefs have the second overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft and all indications are they will select a quarterback.
Whether it’s Drake May or Jayden Daniels, one of them is expected to be in Washington next season. While they rebuild, Allen could be gone or a rival team could be interested. Alex Kay of Bleacher Report proposed a trade that would send Allen to the Green Bay Packers for a 2024 second-rounder and a 2024 fourth-rounder.
“The Washington Commanders are a great pick to hit the trade market for the 2024 season. The team is coming off a worst 4-13 season in 2019 and now has a new GM in Adam Peters. “Peters’ first task will be to find the organization’s next head coach, but he will soon begin to put together a competitive roster.
“Key explained that the Chiefs have nine picks in the 2024 draft and could go that route if they have the ability to rebuild the team. Moving Allen would get them at least a second-round pick. However, he has now won three Pro Bowls and is considered one of the best at his position.
It wouldn’t be surprising if he got a first-round pick. Kay added about the fake business dealings of the commanders in Washington:“Washington has nine picks in the 2024 draft (four of the top 67), but could spend more to fix its roster. Working with veterans to secure their salaries and add additional capital to their coffers should be a priority for Peters.
That shift in focus could see the team’s standout defensive tackle Jonathan Allen gone after seven seasons with the club. The Green Bay Packers have shown they are ahead of schedule this season.
This season was supposed to be a season to see if quarterback Jordan Love could be the team’s future. Instead, he proved that they need to add more talent around them if they are going to win a Super Bowl. He is just a few games away from beating the #1 seed San Francisco 49ers.
Green Bay recently fired defensive coordinator Joe Barry. When a new coach comes in, the addition of Jonathan Allen will make his job much easier. Kay added the Packers’ reasons for the move: The Green Bay Packers would like to acquire Allen’s services. The Packers have blossomed quickly in the post-Aaron Rodgers era, but the Packers could use more help on defense.
Even after finishing the season well and winning the wild card round, the Packers are in desperate need of defensive reinforcement after allowing just 126.3 rushing yards per game and averaging 45 sacks in 2023.
