Olympic skiing legend Lindsey Vonn traded snow for savanna and is officially obsessed.
The retired champion took to social media to gush about her soul-recharging getaway to South Africa, sharing that her first safari in Madikwe Game Reserve delivered an almost unbelievable wildlife jackpot.
“South Africa has my heart ❤️ I recharged my soul and had the time of my life,” Vonn wrote. “This was our first safari of the trip in Madikwe. Saw all of the Big 5 in the first 3 days!”
The Big 5 — lion, leopard, rhino, elephant, and Cape buffalo — in just three days is the kind of lightning-strike safari experience most travelers dream about for years.
Vonn, clearly embracing her new passion for photography, credited her Leica SL2 with the 90-200 lens for capturing the magic. She tagged fellow photographer @carolines.eye and praised luxury travel designer @luxurytravelbyvanessa for orchestrating the flawless trip.
“Will post more soon. Xx,” she teased, leaving fans eager for the upcoming photos and stories from her African adventure.
Known for her relentless drive on the ski slopes, Vonn appears to be bringing that same energy to her post-retirement travels — and judging by her glowing review, South Africa (and Madikwe) just gained a very high-profile fan.
Whether she’s carving turns in the Alps or spotting leopards at dawn, Lindsey Vonn continues to live life at full throttle.
