Retired Olympic skiing champion Lindsey Vonn has shared a heartfelt and unfiltered message about body image, addressing the harsh online criticism she receives after posting swimsuit photos while celebrating her natural body and athletic achievements.
In her recent post, Vonn acknowledged that sharing swimsuit pictures has drawn “ruthless comments and media stories that tear apart my body,” which sometimes affect her emotionally. The skiing legend emphasized that, despite her elite athletic career, she is still a normal person with everyday imperfections.
“I’m a normal person and sometimes I slouch, my stomach folds over, my cellulite shows on my butt, or I don’t fill out my swimsuit top just right,” Vonn wrote. However, she remains proud of her body’s capabilities: “I always remember how my body has helped me achieve amazing things in my life and I am proud of how strong I am. I’m not a size zero and that’s perfectly fine with me.”
Vonn made a clear commitment to authenticity, stating she has never altered her images or undergone cosmetic procedures. “One thing I can promise all of you is that I never Photoshop my photos and am proud to officially never had any plastic surgery of any kind. No Botox, no fillers, no mini surgeries. Literally nothing. I am 100% natural and 100% Lindsey,” she declared.
The five-time overall World Cup champion extended an encouraging message to anyone struggling with self-confidence: “To anyone who is feeling self conscious or down about their appearance; stay strong, stay healthy and love yourself no matter what the haters say.”
Vonn also thanked her supportive followers and called for continued body positivity: “Special thanks to all of you who have been positive and supportive… lets keep up the culture of body positivity going! ❤️🙏🏻💪🏻”
Her candid post highlights ongoing discussions about realistic body representation, especially for female athletes in the public eye, and reinforces the importance of self-acceptance over societal pressure.
