Lindsey Vonn dropped a new gym update and let the caption do the talking: “And I’m back on the road…”
The photos and clips show the work behind the line. Weights. Cardio. Squats. The scar down her rebuilt left leg still visible as she trains. After the Olympic downhill crash that nearly cost her that leg, Vonn has turned the gym into the place she proves she is still moving. She has said she will not skip training. She worked too hard to get here, and she is still working to get stronger.
“Back on the road” is not a race announcement. It is Vonn’s way of saying the isolation part of recovery is fading. For months the story was wheelchair, crutches, hospital beds, and surgeries. Now it is sessions she can actually load, travel she can handle, and a routine that looks like an athlete’s life again — even with an unrepaired ACL and more surgery still ahead.
She has been open about the timeline. Get as strong as possible. Fix the ACL, likely this winter. Then another long rehab. She still will not say whether that road leads back to a start gate. The caption does not answer that. It only says she is no longer stuck.
That is why the gym posts land. Not because they look easy. Because a skier who almost lost her leg is lifting again, captioning the grind like a comeback chapter, and refusing to treat training as optional.
One step at a time. She is back on the road.
