Nottingham Forest were robbed of a well-earned point against Liverpool and Jermaine Jenas is incensed.
Darwin Nunez scored in the 99th minute to ensure a big three points for Jurgen Klopp’s team.
Jenas has been speaking on Match of the Day about the incident and we’ve taken a closer look at what he said about Forest.
What Jermaine Jenas said about key Nottingham Forest incident
Well, there will be no Liverpool fans or figures bemoaning that a game should be replayed this weekend – much like the Anfield giants do when they’re on the wrong end of decisions…
Forest were left absolutely stunned by this one. After the game, Evangelos Marinakis confronted the officials and frankly, he’s now fed up.
It’s getting to the point where football at the top level isn’t the game we know and love and teams such as Forest have every right to bemoan the league.
Jenas was disgusted with what he saw in yesterday’s game and completely understood the gripes from Forest.
He told Match of the Day: “I think it’s a shocking decision.
“The time thing is valid because the game is completely different at that point, it’s time added on Forest have got Liverpool under pressure, Hudson-Odoi might get Forest another corner or have another shot at goal.
“To release the pressure at that point in the game is just massive and it’s another big one for Forest to have to take.”
Forest right to bemoan another calamity cock-up
It really is getting to the point where some Forest fans would happily take relegation if it meant not getting completely taken a mug of every single week.
Forest have endured rotten luck in recent weeks with decisions on the field and from VAR and it’s pathetic now.
This decision wasn’t even a tough one and in Paul Tierney, yesterday’s game was overseen by an experienced Premier League official.
Forest would like to think there will be some accountability but no doubt Tierney will have another afternoon at one of the big clubs next weekend.
Jenas is spot on to call this decision out for what it is and in our view, Forest are owed some serious luck when it comes to decisions.
