Hughes – who has previously signed the likes of Nathan Ake, Dominic Solanke, Callum Wilson and Tyrone Mings for Bournemouth – is actually close friends with Michael Edwards, and there have been suggestions that he could work alongside his pal at Liverpool.
A story from The Times interestingly adds that the Glaswegian already knows what club he will join this summer, with Roma also keen on securing his signature.

If Roma – or another side – end up hiring Hughes, there are some alternatives for Fenway Sports Group (FSG) to explore.
