Emergency services said that Alexis Beka Beka, a French football player, was “safe and sound” after being found on Friday in a “state of distress.”
Police and firefighters attended to the 22-year-old midfielder.
He is secure, according to a police spokeswoman.
The result, according to Nice’s president Jean-Pierre Rivere, has the club feeling relieved.
In a statement, Rivere said that for Alexis, who was in discomfort this morning, “everything ended well.”
“He has received care. We will continue to respect medical privacy, and we ask that everyone else does the same.
He has the support of the entire club, including us.
Beka Beka, who competed for France in the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, transferred from Lokomotiv Moscow in Russia to Nice in August 2022 for a fee of 12 million euros.
He has a deal with the French team till June 2027.
