The administration of Nasarawa State has demanded increased backing for both Lobi Stars and Nasarawa United.
Barrister Isaac Danladi, the permanent secretary of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, praised the Supporters’ Club led by Jibrin Ali Baggio for their steadfast support of the Solid Miners’ players and management and urged them to keep up the pace till the team returns to the top division.
Additionally, Danladi asked fans club members to keep supporting Lobi Stars, an NPFL team that has made Lafia City Stadium their home field this season.
But he took issue with the split in the crowd during Lobi Stars vs. Doma United’s matchday 14 encounter.
According to Danladi, the incident showed that there was a split in the supporters’ club leadership, nearly ruining the support for Lobi Stars.
He made these remarks during a meeting with the supporters club: “The primary reasons for Lobi Stars choosing the Lafia City Stadium as their alternate home ground for the 2023–24 NPFL Season were the close bond between Governor Abdullahi Sule and His Excellency, Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia, of Benue State, as well as the common bond between Nasarawa and Benue States.”
Furthermore, I have had a positive working relationship with Dominic Iorfa, the vice chairman and CEO of Lobi Stars. The governments and people of Benue State and Nasarawa State, respectively, have high expectations that both teams will succeed in winning their respective leagues and advancing to the Premier League, as well as playing continental football at their temporary home field.
“Therefore, since Nasarawa State is known for peace, hospitality, and harmonious coexistence, irrespective of any differences, we are calling on the leadership of the Supporters’ Club to control her members in order to not foment any problems capable of dissolving the fraternity or bringing the league to disrepute.”
