New England Patriots legend Bill Belichick is considered by many to be the greatest coach of all time. But don’t exclude Skip Bayless from that group.
A FOX Sports reporter covered Belichick on Thursday’s episode of “The Undisputed,” calling him a “glorious defensive coordinator” who wouldn’t have succeeded without Tom Brady.
Bayless’ decision drew support from former Patriots quarterback Michael Lombardi, a close friend of Belichick’s and an assistant on New England’s coaching staff from 2014 to 2016. Lombardi returned to Bayless on the X-Platform and urged him to take down Belichick.
“Of course, Skip, I’m really sorry, but you have no idea what’s been going on in this 24-year-old building. “Zero,” Lombardi wrote. At least someone is coming to Belichick’s defense as Bayless’ questions about his coaching credentials got under Lombardi’s skin.
While Brady played a big role in the Patriots winning six Super Bowls under Belichick, Belichick also deserves a lot of credit for that success.Bayless’ hit wasn’t the only hit Belichick took Thursday.
The Atlanta Falcons passed on him for the head coaching job, handing the job to Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris. The Falcons’ move leaves Belichick with few NFL coaching options next season. Belichick is considered a
“good fit” to fill the two remaining head coaching jobs with the Washington Cardinals and Seattle Seahawks.Belichick may have to serve a year in jail or even end up on TV. He might get into a fight with Bayless. It would be a very cool sight.
