Robbie Savage helped Liverpool beat Chelsea in a Premier League match at Anfield.
He predicted a 3-1 home win for the Blues despite the Blues having a good record in their last outing. Savage admitted that Chelsea have lost five of their last 20 trips to Liverpool. But he believes Jurgen Klopp’s side will return home and secure a comfortable victory.
He told Planet Sports:Liverpool are unbeaten in 10 games in all competitions and host Chelsea at Anfield. Chelsea’s record at Anfield is remarkable. They have conceded just five times in their last 20 trips to Anfield. It’s a really great record. But I think Liverpool did very well. I am in perfect shape.
I expect both teams to score in this game, but Liverpool will score more. “We are ready to beat Liverpool 3-1,” he said.Chelsea play away to Liverpool in the Premier League on Wednesday, January 31. The two teams will meet again in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley next month.
Jurgen Klopp has announced that he will leave Liverpool at the end of this season. He resigned, saying he lacked energy and needed someone to help the Reds continue. He took time to send a message to his fans ahead of his meeting with manager Mauricio Pochettino. The German wants fans to focus on Chelsea and shaming their players rather than singing for their departed manager.
He said (via Football London):“It was his first game since [his departure was announced] and I’m not here to tell people what to do. All we know is that we will play again on Wednesday. The coach is slated to leave at the end of the season.
“It would be great if we could do everything we can to make Chelsea as uncomfortable as possible.”The last seven matches between the two teams ended in a draw in regulation time. The last regular time win in this fixture was in March 2021 when the Blues beat the Reds 1-0.
