Liverpool have confirmed that Calvin Ramsey has joined Bolton Wanderers on loan until the end of the 2023/24 season.
The right-back joined Liverpool from Aberdeen in 2022 for an initial fee of £4.2m and spent the first half of this season on loan at Preston North End. Ramsey, who returned from a two-game loan spell at the Championship club, has joined League One top-flight side Bolton for the rest of the season. In a press release, Bolton manager Ian Evatt said he was delighted to have signed a “talented young player”.
“We are very grateful to Liverpool for entrusting us with one of their young players,” Evatt said.“Calvin is a very good player in his own right and I’m confident he’ll come here and show everyone involved what a good player he can be. He is a very talented young player and we are lucky that Liverpool chose us over many other options.
“He had a mixed first six months of the season at Preston through injury. He hasn’t played much since coming back from that, so it’s up to us to make sure he enjoys his football and has a smile on his face.”He hasn’t played a lot of football lately so we’ll have to build on that. But I think it will add to what we have for the rest of the season. That’s for sure.
“Josh [Dacres-Cogley] has put in a lot of effort so far this season and he’s done a great job. I think now we can rotate a bit or he needs rest or he can play at center back sometimes. “It’s great that Calvin stood up and did what he did.”
