Liverpool have received some good news ahead of facing Sparta Prague in the Europa League tomorrow.
The Reds are still trying to navigate through a number of injury issues as they head to the Czech Republic on Thursday. With Manchester City to come on Sunday, they badly needed a positive day.
Thankfully, according to journalist David Lynch on X this afternoon, they’ve been given it. Reporting on Liverpool’s open training session on Wednesday, Lynch writes that Mohamed Salah was fully involved.
“Mohamed Salah is involved in training ahead of Liverpool’s trip to Sparta Prague,” says the reporter. “A major boost in what is a crucial week.”
Brilliant news for Liverpool, who looks set to have Salah available for only the third time in 2024.
Salah back in Liverpool training
Given the injury issues they’ve picked up in other areas, it’s gone a little under the radar just how well Liverpool have done without Salah.
Owing to his participation in the AFCON with Egypt, and then a subsequent injury, the 31-year-old has only played once since New Year’s Day.
Liverpool have played thirteen times in the intervening nine weeks or so. Salah’s involvement in that run equates to a meagre 46-minute spell against Brentford in February.
