Denver Summit FC just dropped a bombshell that has Colorado sports fans buzzing: the winningest alpine skier of all time is coming to the match.
Mikaela Shiffrin — Colorado native, Olympic champion, record-smashing World Cup legend, and proud Denver Summit FC investor — will be in the house Saturday when the Summit host the Utah Royals at Centennial Stadium.
The club announced the news Thursday with a simple, electric warning: “You won’t want to miss this.”
Shiffrin, who has rewritten the history books with more World Cup victories than any skier (man or woman) ever, joined the Summit ownership group in 2025. The Vail product has long been one of Colorado’s most celebrated athletes, and her presence at the club’s temporary home in Centennial adds serious star power to an already growing NWSL expansion story.
Saturday’s matchup carries extra weight. It’s a Rocky Mountain rivalry tilt between two Western Conference sides, with kickoff set for 2 p.m. MDT. Fans can expect the usual high-energy atmosphere — and now the chance to see one of the greatest athletes of her generation cheering on the home team in person.
Tickets and more information are available through Denver Summit FC’s official channels. If you’re anywhere near Centennial this weekend, this is the place to be.
